Dusting Off the Cobwebs

We’ve been working hard over the past few weeks to update our website to reflect our current organization and projects. We’ve slightly updated the look of the site, and we’ve also updated the pages with content about our participation in the 2008 IGVC. We added a section for our Current Projects, which we will be continually updating with information about our current work on Prospect Twelve and our entry in the 2009 IGVC. Finally, on our Sponsors page, we’ve added a link to a pdf download of our sponsor packet, which you can also get here.

We are looking forward to making progress in the coming weeks on both our current projects, and we will be bringing you the updates as they happen.

New Sponsor

PAVE is excited to announce that our friends from across the pond, Redgate Software are our latest sponsor. Redgate makes a variety of software tools for use with SQL and .NET, including the ANTS Profiler, which our team used back in 2005 to successfully fix the memory leak that prevented Prospect Eleven from traveling more than 9.5 miles in the Grand Challenge.

Redgate has provided us several licenses to their software and will be providing our team with shirts to wear at the competition.
If you or your company is interested in sponsoring our team, it’s not too late! Please contact us.

Final Preparations

Due to some unforeseen construction, we have had to find a new location for our site visit. Thankfully, the FMC Corporation is allowing us to use a portion of their Chemical Research and Development Center in Princeton, NJ for our site visit and preceding testing. We greatly appreciate their generosity and support of our project.

Our site visit is scheduled for 2pm – 6pm on Monday, July 9th. More information is availalble from our events page.

We are also excited to announce that Gladiator Technologies Inc. is the newest addition to our growing list of team sponsors. We look forward to working with Gladiator and their products in the Urban Challenge.

New Sponsors & Friends

PAVE would like extend a welcome and thanks to our recently acquired sponsors. These companies are now part of the growing PAVE family that shares the experience of competing in the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. The ShockTech corporation in Monsey, NY has donated shock-isolating mounts for our rack-mounted computers. Our neighbors in Princeton Junction, NJ, Posital have helped us acquire a high-resolution optical encoder for steering feedback. Finally, the fine folks at BookSwim have agreed to join our Business team as consultants.

Recently, several members of PAVE were invited out to Pasadena, CA to visit the Urban Challenge team at Caltech. During the visit we exchanged and compared our ideas and approaches for the upcoming Challenge. This was a very positive experience for PAVE, and we would like to extend our greatest thanks to Team Caltech. We wish you all the best in the competition!
