The PAVE crew had quite an exciting adventure at this year’s Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition. After many, many long hours of driving, non-stop software writing and days of hard work, the team has returned safety to Princeton, NJ with lots of good memories, a prestigious award and a strong desire to finally get some rest! Check out the new team photo that has been put up in the C wing of the E-Quad. We look great! Thanks to Frank Wojciechowski for taking the photo, and to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences for featuring the display.
Record Number of New Recruits to PAVE
We are proud to announce that we’ve broken the PAVE recruiting record with an all time high of over 50 new members. Although the increase coincides with the expanded enrollment of B.S.E. students at Princeton, several of our new members are Sophomores and Juniors, and many are from disciplines outside the engineering school. PAVE Announces Participation in 2010 IGVC
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be participating in the 2010 Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC), which will run from June 5-8, 2010 in Rochester, Michigan. At this point, we are still finalizing our plans for our 2010 entry, which is yet to be named. Check back in the coming months for news and updates on the progress of our 2010 IGVC team.
Welcome to the new PAVE website!
For those of you who are keen-eyed and constantly checking in on our site, you may have noticed a shift in the web design. For those of you following our RSS feed, head on over to our website to check out the improvements. We’ve been working on many of the additions for over a month now, and we’re proud to unveil what we have so far. Some areas of the site are still under construction, so please keep your hard-hats on and watch for falling debris. We’ll have everything polished up in about two weeks.
In the meantime, take a look around, marvel at the new sidebar and the new navigation structure. Take a look at our gorgeous (in most cases 800 X 600) photos by clicking on the thumbnail previews. If something doesn’t look right, please let us know via our all-new contact form.
A New Look For the Coming Year
We’re currently working on a complete redesign of our entire website, including an all new front page. For those of you who subscribe to our RSS feed but don’t visit often, come on by and see our redesigned blog page. We don’t have a definite launch date for the rest of the site, but we’re planning on having it all up within the next few weeks.
Website Updates and Improvements
We’re constantly maintaining and updating our website, and lately we’ve done a few major uploads of publications and content:
- Our 2009 IGVC design report is now available as a pdf download.
- A paper on our method of lane detection, written by Derrick Yu as part of a Junior Independent Work project is also now available as a pdf download.
- We’ve finally gotten around to updating our navigation page for the 2008 IGVC.
In addition, we’re working on embedding all of our videos and adding a gallery of our photos. However, you can always visit our flickr group and our YouTube channel for photos and videos, respectively. We’ll also be updating our site with more content about Argos, our entry in the 2009 IGVC.
